Monitoring of critical zones of the ash dump
section dam in the Akmola region
Design solutions
-
01
System architecture
Three-level automated monitoring system (AMS):
sensors record parameters and transmit data to information collection cabinets for primary processing and storage
-
02
Monitored parameters
The system monitors key indicators of the hydraulic structure condition:
— water levels in piezometric wells;
— vertical dam displacements;
— structural settlements.
-
03
Equipment
The complex is built on modern measuring and control equipment:
— High-precision sensors — 55 observation sections provide detailed parameter control.
— AMS cabinets with controllers and backup batteries ensure uninterrupted operation.
— Licensed software performs visualization, analysis and alerts.
Comprehensive approach to system reliability — safety, stability and control at all levels
-
Sensor placement
At critical points of dams determined by hydraulic engineering calculations
-
Data transmission
Shielded cables from sensors to AMS cabinets. Fiber-optic communication lines between cabinets. Wireless communication and cable to AWP
-
Power supply
Reliability category 3 + Li-Ion batteries in cabinets (reserve for several days)

Reliability of solutions,
confirmed by practice
-
Works in any conditions
The system meets SNiP RK 3.02-05-2010 requirements and ensures mandatory monitoring for hydraulic structures of classes 1–3, guaranteeing accuracy and safety of control
-
Full regulatory compliance
The equipment maintains stability at temperatures from −40°C to +70°C and operates even on autonomous power, ensuring continuous monitoring in extreme environments
-
Forecasting and accident prevention
Up to 55 measurement points cover all key sections of the structure, eliminating blind spots and improving the reliability of collected data
-
Maximum control zone coverage
The system analyzes the dynamics of indicator changes and identifies trends, allowing early prediction of possible deviations and prevention of emergency situations
